Shielded Container with Cart

Shielded container with cart, suitable for storage and movement in safety conditions of radioactive sources, radiopharmaceuticals or other radioactive material, such as storage for decay of high activity hazardous waste (i.e. spare parts from cyclotrons) or the movement of high radiopharmaceutical activities for radiometabolic therapy (i.e. I-131) to hospital rooms or administration rooms.

The transportation cart is entirely made of AISI 304 stainless steel with decontaminable finish, equipped with a tubular handle with reinforcement wings and polyamide wheels with low friction coefficient.

The front wheels are fixed while the rear swiveling wheels are equipped with parking brakes.

The shielded container is securely fixed to the cart by means of special screws, it is entirely made of AISI 304 stainless steel with satin finish and encapsulated lead shielding in all directions, and is featuring a fully removable main cover by means of two side handles, and an additional lower weight central opening with a handle on the upper-central part to allow the simple insertion and pick-up of radioactive material even by a single operator.

The shielded container is available with 10, 20 or 30 mm lead shielding, the lead shielding is entirely encapsulated within the AISI 304 stainless steel structure, to avoid any possible contact of the lead with the operators and the environment.
