DosiACTIVE

DosiACTIVE, realized by Dosilab, is a personal dosimetry system based on the delivery and return of dosimeters through attribution stations (DosiSTATION). These allow each operator, through the use of a personal code, to locate and pick up his or her assigned dosimeter. Attribution stations are available for up to 16 dosimeters, but the system is expandable to virtually unlimited capacity.

The station is regularly synchronized with the server. As soon as a dosimeter is placed back into a slot, the dosimeter data is sent to the server itself and the dosimeter battery is recharged. In the event of a network outage, as soon as the network is restored, the database is automatically synchronized with the server.

The active dosimeter, measures and displays dose and dose rate in real time, both in Hp(10) and Hp(0.07). The person being monitored thus has an overview of his or her radiation exposure at all times. If pre-set alarm thresholds are exceeded, the dosimeter emits a light and sound signal, allowing the operator to optimize his or her exposure accordingly.

Unlike passive dosimeters, active dosimeters are not assigned to a specific person, but can be worn by any individual registered in the database. When a dosimeter is taken from the recording station, it is assigned to a person by entering a personal code, and the wearer’s name appears on the display. Once returned, the dosimeter can be issued to the next person.

Dosilab uses two software modules to manage monitored persons and measurement data, as well as secure communication with the server:

• dosiCLIENT is used to manage the persons to be monitored, their personal data, and to retrieve and analyze the measured dose values
• dosiSERVER controls the system periphery via a standard TCP/IP LAN for configuration and control of APD use.

Access to confidential measurement data in dosiCLIENT is protected by a security protocol. Using dosiCLIENT, measured values can be managed and evaluated, as well as other tasks such as defining operator cards and assigning dosimeters.

Upon request, dosiACTIVE also has a Bluetooth function, whereby measurement data is transmitted in real time to a remote screen (tablet) and can be viewed using the dosiLIVE software. The dosiLIVE application allows real-time management of the location -and exposure- of connected operators, thanks to the possibility of creating a dedicated alarm profile without changing the profile of the individual active dosimeter.
