myOSL 4.0
myOSLraser 4.0 is the basic unit of the 4-element dosimetry system produced by Freiberg Instruments, in collaboration with RadPro International. It is a compact, easy-to-use, high-quality reader that processes 4-element and single-element dosimeters, distinguishing them by two different 2D code scanners. It combines the reading and erasing process into one system to maintain a high workflow. The myOSLraser 4.0 can be easily upgraded to an automated system to process 50 dosimeters per charge; in this configuration it comes with ten chargers of 50 dosimeters each.
The next automation step for the myOSLraser is the myOSLautomatic 500 to charge up to 500 dosimeters. Finally, the myOSL 4000 offers a loading capacity of up to 4000 dosimeters by installing two myOSLraser 4.0s. Alternatively, one of them can be replaced with the myOSLirradiator 4.0 for automatic dosimeter calibration.
OSL 4-element dosimeters are equipped with 3 different Hp(10) filters that allow calculation of a flat energy response for Hp(10) over a wide energy range. It also provides dose estimates for Hp(0.07) and Hp(3). The physical characteristics of the material of which they are made (beryllium oxide), they are capable of covering an energy range suitable for medical applications (16keV to several MeV) and a dose range from 0.05 mSv to 10 Sv. The dosimeter itself measures only 49 x 23 mm, one of the smallest 4-element passive dosimeters in the world-equivalent to Panasonic’s TLD dosimeter boards.
